To Whom May Be Concerned...

...The oil does not seem to affected the beaches here in Seaside.  The sand is as soft and sugar white ever and the water is its usual crystal clear turquoise blue.

I am so glad that we did not let the situation change our minds about taking this trip.  We worried and fretted whether or not to even come but after being here for a couple of days I am so glad we didn't back out.  We haven't let a hurricane or two running us out of town deter our vacationing, why would a little oil in the area be any different.  Not only are the beaches as beautiful as ever, apparently there are about half the number of people here than is normal for this time of year.  That means that alot of the local businesses are hurting and need our tourism dollars.  If anyone was planning a trip to the Emerald Coast and is wondering if they should cancel, please don't.

There are stories of tarballs on the beach, but we have yet to see any ourselves.  It does seem that they are taking any and all precautions necessary...

Why these guys were even on the beach, none us know.

And we have seen bottles of Dawn at the outdoor showers by the beach.  But so far we have not discovered any reason for all the fuss and muss.  It has just been vacation as usual for the Weaver girls.
